What To Do If You’ve Been Hurt
If you’ve been in a car or truck accident:
- Call 911. Request that police come to the scene, and request an ambulance take you the hospital so you can be evaluated/seek medical assistance. It is not a good idea to wait and see if you are okay or go in a private car to the hospital. Go in an ambulance. You need to be in the care of trained medical professionals
- As soon as you are physically able to, write down as much detail as you can remember about the accident
- Ask anyone you know who may have witnessed the accident or who has information relevant to the accident to write a detailed account
- Obtain a copy of the police report when it is completed a few days later
