Emily Copeland Attorney

EMILY COPELAND

Partner | Personal Injury Attorney | Miller Copeland

Emily Copeland doesn't back down from a fight — and she never has. Growing up with deep East Texas roots, Emily was inspired to pursue law by her great-grandfather, Judge Winston Reagan, who served as County Judge in Henderson County for 20 years. That legacy of standing up for people in the courtroom runs in her blood.

Today, Emily channels that same spirit into fighting for injured clients against the corporations and insurance companies that have every resource imaginable. But what truly sets her apart is where she started — on the other side.

Early in her career, Emily spent several years doing insurance defense work, representing the very companies that injured people now hire her to fight. She sat in the strategy meetings. She saw the tactics insurers use to delay, deny, and minimize claims. She learned exactly how they evaluate cases, where they're vulnerable, and what it takes to make them pay full value. When Emily switched sides, she brought all of that knowledge with her — and she uses it every day to outmaneuver the opposition.

She focuses her practice on personal injury litigation — wrongful death, catastrophic injuries, trucking accidents, and cases where a large company's negligence has devastated a family's life. When the other side has a team of lawyers working to minimize what you're owed, Emily doesn't just level the playing field — she knows their playbook better than they'd like.

Emily earned her law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law, where she served as Editor in Chief of the Administrative Law Journal — a role that demanded precision, leadership, and an ability to cut through complexity. She also represented real clients through Texas Tech's Clinical Programs as a Qualified Student Attorney, handling family law and housing cases for those who couldn't otherwise afford legal help. That commitment to fighting for the underdog has never left her.

She is a proud member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association. She has been recognized on the Lawdragon 500-X Next Generation List, which identifies the most promising up-and-coming legal talent in the country, and named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, an honor fewer than 2.5% of attorneys in Texas receive.

If you're facing a powerful company or insurer after a serious injury, Emily Copeland is the attorney you want in your corner.
